Anyone else had or have a problem with spiders this year?? I have them in my house all of a sudden and they are of different types...... small and big!! :( I live in the South East part of the USA, so it is hot and humid, but have never had this bad of a problem. I have lived in the same house for years and I use an exterminator. Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated! :)

Hi, I also live in the South East and know what you are talking about. They are everywhere!!! I have tried everything to get rid of them cause I am terrified of them but the only thing I've found that works is my husbands big foot. My pest control guy said because they don't clean their legs after walking through spray like most other bugs, they are harder to kill. I'd let you borrow my husband but then I'd be without a spider killer. Ain't much help but I feel for ya'!! Good luck with them!

Try to calm down and remember that there are only two really dangerous spiders (black widow and brown recluse (fiddle back)) you have to worry about and they are very shy. The spiders you are seeing are probably common garden and fly spiders which are harmless and if they do bite you probably won't feel it and the worst reaction you will have is like a mosquito bite. If you brought out an exterminator then your problem should be over soon. Also, try to remember that spiders do us a service by eating bugs that we don't want around.

Spiders are quite harmless, in fact they are beneficial if a little creepy looking. They are not vectors but eat a lot of bugs that are so a healthy spider population will keep down the bugs that can do you harm.

when i lived in alabama, hairspray was my weapon of choice. especially the aerosol kind. i kept a can just for that purpose! it coats them and they can't breath...or move and die really quick!

spiders don't die from pesticides because they aren't bugs. they are arachnids and the pesticide fellow needs to be applying an arachnicide to kill them. it has nothing what-so-ever to do with them cleaning their legs!
