How do i do "If A1*B1>300 then the cell value is 300, otherwise returns the true value of A1*B1?

Either:
=IF(A1*B1>300, 300, A1*B1)
or more simply
=MIN(A1*B1, 300)

Use this formula:
=IF(A1*B1>300,300,A1*B1)
