Why shouldn't he??? He should be leading in votes by a mile!!! He is the best catcher out there right now. If we are talking about this year's catchers, then he is the best! Check out these stats---

.351 AVG, 8 HR, 41 RBI, 1 SB, 38 R

If this isn't All-Star caliber stats for a catcher, I don't know what is. Oh, check out his defensive stats---

56 games, 451 innings, 281 putouts, 17 assists, 2 errors, .993 fielding percentage

He is also a Gold Glove catcher! He should be the starter for the AL All-Star team. No doubt about it!

Hell yeah!!!
Even Yankee haters like me would agree that Posada is having a career year in '07. He is hitting for high average and power. He deserves to be in the All-Star Game. Ivan Rodriguez will start the game beacuase fans will choose him. He is a future hall of famer and last year's post season wil help him a deal to win the voters favor (as well as catching Justin Verlander's no-hitter). But Posada will be the reserve catcher for sure.

Why would you say pudge is going.... Posada is having a fantastic year. The fans should get it right. If anyone other than Posada starts that game, then the fans shouldnt be allowed to vote.

Posada is a great catcher and has proven that over the years, including this year. He is definitely one of the best catchersin the AL, i would say top 3. He definitely deserves to play in the all-star game.

He is one of two American League players (Jeter the other) to amass over 1,000,000 votes for far and has a huge lead over Pudge.
Posada is having a great year with his bat, once led te AL and the ML in batting average, a rarity for catchers, he should be a sure shot for starter.

Jorge Posada DEFINITELY deserves to be the ALL STAR STARTING PITCHER----Pudge Rodriguez has done OK but NO pitcher has the stats Posada has gotten this year.....oh of course I'm a New Yorker and Die-hard Yankee fan, but even if I weren't, you can't argue with the stats...and Jorge has em......

i heard an announcer once say that most catchers lose their touch after they get older but jorge just keeps gettin better and betteras he gets older, and i agree. If this was any other year, i would have said no but with the season he's having now, it would b a shame if he didnt start. i would surely be sad =(

He's batting 351 for crying out loud. He is a great catcher also. He has had to catch 11 different starters this year and his bullpen is a mess and yet they have won nine in a row. He's good.

He absolutely deserves to be the AL all star catcher. How can Leland even think of not selecting him?? He will, trust me.

He's having a outstanding year so far and should be the starter for the AL. The fan vote system sux. They should have the players vote for who they think is the best.
