1. A ∪ C is the set of all elements that are in A or C or both. So it is {1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9}.

2. (B ∪ C) ∩ A (note: you can use n for ∩)
= {1, 3, 4, 5, 9, 11} ∩ {2, 4, 6, 8}
This means the set of elements that are in both sets:
= {4}

3. (x^-4 y^-5 z^3)^-3 = (x^-4)^(-3) (y^-5)^(-3) (z^3)^(-3)
= x^(-4×-3) y^(-5×-3) z^(3×-3)
= x^12 y^15 z^-9.

4. A, since the first graph has gradient 1/4 and the second has gradient 4. Perpendicular lines have gradients that multiply to -1.
