No matter if it was by accident or design, I think it is wonderful.
Here you have two age groups divided by a huge wall called "age", and we now can learn from each other.
Yes! I said learn from each other.
As a senior (62), I sure don't know it all nor do the younger aged seniors. But the younger ones are getting the cutting edge stuff. As older seniors we heard about and maybe even seek out the info. but the younger ones are getting it taught to them.
We have our knowledge too and life experiences and most of us would like to share it. Care to sit on that old front porch and listen? Most of it is timeless.
As far as respect goes: We ALL have to earn it no matter what our ages, and what a great way to do it by exchanging info.
Your comment about it being "cute", it goes way beyond that into something truly wonderful.

I found it rather confusing. I thought this forum was for Senior citizens (gray power) and when I asked a question, high schoolers kept answering the questions.

So I guess it is kinda of funny since most young people have a monopoly in most categories on Yahoo Answers. Still its okay. I just put my questions to Senior citizens now, just so the other "young seniors" know not to answer. Unless they want to of course.

I think it's funny only cos I never thought I'd make it; it surprised the hell outa me in fact; it's not as if I planned it.
I don't really care what category others slot me into - I'll always be me to me.

Oh, what was nice about being over 60 in Oz is that all pensioners over 60 got $500 from the government last week.

wasn't to many years ago I was a " senior " graduating from college ( 1992 ) which was only 15 years ago. I was one of the older students who had an advantage because of my " real life experiences. " some of which caused the younger professors to shake their heads in disbelief, especially since I was older than some of their parents.

It's a new category. Things will work out and settle down. When the young seniors (referring to graduating ones) come here, they will learn they have made a mistake and don't want to hang out with opinionated 'oldsters'.

I'm with 'eek' We need a catagory, "fresh men"...all the ones I know are stale as hell.
And yes, it would seem that their would have been less confusion had the genius that sets up this site might have tacked on, "citizens" without much ado...but what do I know...I ' m old, can barely speak, have trouble remembering....what the hell were we talking about??????

I agree - it is cute. May be YA should add another sub topic to distinguish the elderly from the 'seniors'.

Yes, I think it's cute too. But considering that we all grow to resemble one another, and our knowledge of the past is similar and so are our problems, I think we turn into a separate TRIBE.
