not entirely...
My Life isnt all about ME ME ME, if it is id say i am completely in charge.
but i am also completely void & lonely.
i may have the power to choose,
what direction to take, what opportunity to grab, what moment to create.
but my Life isnt just a solitary obligation, it's more of a self-expression.
i have the canvass to paint my Life in, & the color palette of my own.
but i always let the people i trust put more colors into it..
an abstract painting that only i & those who understands me would see it's beauty.
others may think the painting is all crazy & ambiguous.
but it's my own masterpiece. the Life i chose to be.
:-)

We are most definitely not in charge of our own lives. We are entirely dependent on a thousand factors each day. To the end that we make our own choices, then yes, we are in charge, but we are often left with lousy options or make the wrong choices. So, I decided long ago to give my life over to God to the degree that my sinful frail humanity allows it. Now He's is charge.

No.
To qualify this, there are many things that we do have control over. However, in a world where we interact with others, where others play a role in what happens in ourlives, we don't have the ability to control others. As a result, we cannot claim total control over our life, or total control by someone or some other force.
Likeable people tend to do better in life, as this one bias that is socially acceptable and often results in unfair treatment. The "like" factor can relate to beauty or physical appearance, or character traits.

Often when we speak of "life" we are speaking of, or describing "things and events" which occur outside of ourselves.
There are, and will always be some aspects of your life that you can "be in charge of", and other aspects that you cannot.
The trick is the ability to discern and know the difference between that which you can affect (be in charge of) and that part which you cannot--and then appropriately place your attention on that which you can affect and proceed, or move yourself 'forwards'.
What you can ALWAYS "be in charge of" is what either occurs "within" or "inside" of yourself (your reactions, emotions, thoughts, etc.). This is most effectively done via decision--accompanied by the acquisition of knowledge, truth, attention, focus and other such skills and attributes.
Regards,

We all try to control events within our sphere of influence, and for a while we can manage that. But as everyone is interconnected in the world, events outside our sphere of influence does affect us whether we like it or not.
So I suppose we should just take the attitude/view of getting by and doing the best we can.
Peace and love.

You have control over your actions. Most of the time... You don't really control your life but some people like to think they do. It happens. whatever it is. It happens. Personally I think people are losing their self will and self control to the media influences this generation.

No. Someone else has the strings and make me dance to his tunes. I am only incharge of my kitchen and decide what to cook. But on second thoughts, even that is decided by what will make my family happy! So, it is an absolute NO.

No, absolutely not! My wife and sons are; then there is the Government which now butts into every single thing a person does (hey, that's like Communism!)
