do you automatically get suspicious?

No matter who says it, there's always the little flare of doubt. Suspicion and Paranoia begin set in like a bad stain.

The time it takes for the feeling to fade is totally dependent on the person who said it.

If a complete stranger comes up to me and says, "Trust Me." It would have the same effect as if they had said, "I'm going to Lie straight to your face."

Yeah I do, but it's because I've been used to the same person telling me that for years and not being able to trust that particular person. I know I'll be able to trust again, it'll just take time.....

It has to be considered in context. Who's saying it? A friend? A lover? A car salesman? Also, I'd like to ask that person who says "Trust me" why they feel the need to say it. I'd ask them what makes them think that I DON"T trust them. If they say yes, they think I trust them, then I'd say they don't trust themselves.

Well I dont trust people unless I know them. And If i know them they generally dont have to prove trust to me, so I dont hear it said often.

If it was a stranger saying it - then i just wouldn't believe them because I dont know them from the next person!

"Trust me" is not as dangerous as when someone says "why don't/you don't/you should trust me." Nothing sends up a red flag faster than that! That expression always comes out of the mouth of true sociopaths... Beware!

Depends on who the person is really. If they are an expert in their field, then yes I would. (ie a doctor before an operation) However if it is on something not life threating, then yes, I would question it a little.

Depends on the context. Like if someone says "trust me, that guy is no good, you don't want to date him" I generally wouldn't. But, if someone is trying to sell me something, then I would.

It depends on whether or not the person is trust worthy to begin with
