I often do things to please other people. But I'm learning not to do it anymore. I find that people take advantage of you when you do things for them.

Of course!
You do this as a marriage mate, as a parent......as a friend.
The ability to help others and not always to what YOU want to do all the time is part of the give and take of family/friendship.
Ever wonder how many times someone else has done this for you??

Yeah, a few times. I won't go into what it was, but I explained to the person in question why I didn't want to do the thing, and that I'd only really done it to please them, and they totally understood (once I'd made it clear that they hadn't pressured me at all) and I haven't done it since.
Just talk to the person about whatever it is you don't feel comfortable with.

i like to dress down, in cargo pants and t, but my wife doesn't like it, so i now mostly dress in tailored pants and polo shirts.i like to twist balloons, but some times i really don't feel like it, but my friends would
some times ask me to twist something for their kids and i would do it.

Too many times. However, I have discovered that the more you try to please people (esp, family) the more you end up pleasing no-one.
