i recieved a letter stating that i had won money from a company called Zurich-Shaw financial group , they sent me a check for a sum to send to them and told me i would get the money hand delivered within 48hrs. i would have a year to pay back the 3,000 that was in the first check they sent to help finance my getting it[out of county fees}. is this for real or has anyone else heard of this? they are not asking me to send anymore than they sent to me.

Nope, it's a scam. The check they sent you isn't good - it'll bounce eventually, and then you'll be out the money they sent you.

Do NOT send them anything. This is one of the big scams going around these days. You didn't win anything.

This is definitely a scam. First, did you actually enter a contest with them? Didn't think so.

What will happen is you will cash the check and send you whatever sum they tell you to and you'll never hear from them again. Meanwhile the check you deposited to your account from them will bounce and your financial institution will take the amount of the check out of your account and you'll probably end up owing your bank money because you fell for this scam, and the government wont be able to help you get your money back.

Don't do it!!!

This is a SCAM
Have nothing to do with it
Do not acknoledge any thing
Do not phone.Do not try to cash their cheque
Take allthings they have sent you and copy of letter to your local police dept and let them handle it.
