Thinking out loud, may give the impression that you are a little less than brilliant. Although most people do think out loud some time, it carries with it a sense of lack of self confidence. It is as though you had this thought and you would like to hear how it sounds before taking action. I do it a lot during my day at work, by try not to when other people are present.
