Supporting them "no matter what they do" is fascism.

The right to criticize our leaders without fear of repercussions is what makes this country great. You speak out about the establishment somewhere else and you could lose your head!
We should be thankful we have this right. By all means we should support the President and our military. You may not like him, but that is why they hold elections so you can try to get the guy you like in there.

People make mistakes and need to be called to the carpet on them. Is this war a mistake? Maybe. Did we or did we not catch Sadaam? He was a major threat to our safety and I am glad he is out. Are there weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, I dont know.

He did what he thought was right under the circumstances after 9/11 with the information he was given. We cant just bail out of there now. Iraq will be an even bigger mess if we just up and leave.

Repect and support must be earned. This administration has done nothing to earn our respect or support. As for supporting our President at a time of war. I remember this one quote.

You can support the troops without having to support the President. That was Tom DeLay. So if Tom DeLay says I don't have to do it, I guess I won't. Also let us not forget, it is our troops fighting not the President. He and his administration were able to find ways to get out of putting their lives in danger.

thats what the warmongers say. but if no one questions them, if they cant take constructive criticism or suggestions, then they are taking part in a dictatorship. giving political leaders total unquestioned carte-blanche is by definition a dictatorship. so many forget that this is exactly what the founding fathers were trying to get away from and prevent their descendents from having to experience.
the best way to suppor the troops is not to put them in 120 degree heat where they will be picked off by snipers and blown up- it supports them to say 'hey i realize you are brave but we dont want you to be killed because of the whims of a dictator-so please come home and defend american soil for us!'
and another thing, supporting 'our president' is impossible since we dont have one. anyone that believes bush was elected is wearing blinders.the 2000 election was investigated and determined to be fraudulent by the US civil rights commission- a federal agency. the 2004 election was investigated and found to be fraudulent by the GAO- another federal agency. so dont worry about supporting him-he has no right to be in office to begin with.

No. Even a soldier should question unlawful orders.

I bet the person who gave me the thumbs down is a die hard Bush supporter. I am a soldier who has been in for twelve years. While there are limits to what we can do we are allowed to have our opinions about our president and military leaders. If my platoon sergeant tells me to kill innocent civilians I can say no. I can refuse an unlawful order. You know what you can do with your thumbs down.

Yes! To close your eyes to the obvious idiotic mistakes your president and the people around him is doing would be fatal! What about the secret prisons you have been using since for ever where people that doesn't even live in the US just one day disappears to and are tortured without any judge or lawyers to help them out.. Without anybody knowing where they are? If you think that is cool, is it OK if I start making US citizens just disappear in my country? HUH? And torture them to answer all the secrets about Walt Disney? lol

I believe it's okay to criticize the President.

I believe we need to back off on criticizing our other military leaders.

Of course all need our support.

I appreciate the military who have chosen to serve our country. So many folks don't even know our freedoms exist. They take them for granted unknowingly.

Yes, we should be able to criticize them we all have the right to freedom of speech. I'm not supporting anybody that I disagree with and I disagree with the war totally and everybody who voted for it. We have lost over 3000 troops and for what? Nothing (God rest their souls)

Wow, that's the most fascist statement I've heard in a while.

Yes, we should be able to criticize the government ANYTIME! That is exactly what the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is for!

Are you crazy!

I guess you want another Hitler!

The military is run by civilians and it represents America, NOT George Bush or the class of people he represents!

If the oil companies want to hire their own army, great! They can afford it!
