As men get older they hit the baseball harder & faster. A dirt infield would not slow the ball down at all; this would lead to way too many hits. From highs school on up here should be a grass infield if the organization can afford it.

Women's softball has a dirt infield for the opposite reason. The dirt infield does not slow the ball down---a hard hit softball will not travel as fast as a baseball hit just as well. If there was a grass infield there would be even fewer hits.

It slows the ball down and come on, it looks a heck of a lot nicer than a dirt infield. If you were going to a baseball game and it was windy that day, the dirt would be blowing into everyone's faces!!! I am happy there are grass infields!

The base-paths are dirt to provide fast lanes for runners/fielders.

The grass slows the ball down, looks nicer than an all-dirt-infield, and frames the baselines.

Dirt infield makes for a faster ground ball. Mostly used for softball fields because of the bigger, softer ball, and not typical for a baseball fields, unless maintenance money is an issue.

Grass slow everything down. Dirt speeds the ball up.

i imagine you're good with the Yankees. That infield is scary. Cano i imagine could have a extra positive twelve months this twelve months than very last twelve months. He has numerous skills and continues to be extraordinarily youthful. Texiera for sure is tremendous, and Rodriguez and Jeter talk for themselves.

An all dirt (Skinned) infield is mush easier to maintain. I just wish most P+R associations would go to it.

Easier to maintain and better playability for the players. Try one and see, you'll agree.
