Yeah so my guitar teacher told me about this good brand and I'm pretty sure it started with a "G" but I can't remember. He said that the maker of Fender guitars teamed up with this other guy and they created this new brand and the name was a combination of their last names or something. He said it's not as well known as Fender and some others but its still good. If anyone knows the name I would be very thankful!

that might be "guild", which fender now owns. guild guitars have been around for a lo-o-n-n-g time, building a solid reputation on very nice acoustic guitars. their electrics are another story; stay away from them, please. they shoulda stuck to what they knew. guild guitars are usually a little pricier than most, but a good investment over time. there is g&l, which makes a nice electric guitar, but there are others (ibanez; washburn) that might be a better band for the buck. the only other "g" I can think of is gibson, the "arch enemy" of fender!
