I gave him a good, long deal before throwing in the towel - twice.

I liked his stuff growing up, right through "No More Lonely Nights." After that, I lost hope.

UNTIL he teamed up with Elvis Costello and wrote a couple songs. Elvis did their collabo "Veronica," and Paul recorded "This One." Both are really great songs.

But since then? Yeah, no thanks, Sir Paul.

But it was AWESOME when I was at the Empire State Building with my mother in '00 and we shared a very crowded elevator ride one floor with Paul and Heather Mills!

He hasn't really done anything worth listening to since Linda died, but the fact is that most of the old geezers from the 60s haven't done squat in the past 20 years or more. So I am not too worried about it. He's fine.

The Beatles are too much of my life to give up on him. But I do think he's kind of goofy. That "Freedom" song he wrote after 911 was horrible. But he pretty much invented bass playing as we know it today. Hard to give up on that.

Question: When did Paul McCartney write Silly Love Songs?

I haven't. I'm not really into most of his 80's and early 90's stuff, but i like everything else! I haven't heard the new record yet, though!

I haven't. I just bought his new Cd Memory Almost Full yesterday, it's fantastic. McCartney still has a lot left in the tank.

what a dumb question. He is an original Beatle and one of the great songwriters and Bass players of the last 40 years. Its a shame that you have given up on him. go back and buy an early Beatles album and get a history lesson you dimwit!

Right after the White Album.

Without Lennon to temper McCartney's sugar-sweetness, all that was left was a toothache.

C'mon, the guy is a music icon, he's been around this long, why give up now?

Have'nt yet...possibly you are to young to realize what accomplishments he (and John, George and Ringo) made to the world of music. Growing up with the Beatles (I'm 52) changed our world-from the songs they wrote, to the clothes we wore, to our way of thinking.
