If you are talking just a show... no forms.. just tryign to convince a station to air you... a few hundred per show does wonders...

For a radio station, to start your own from the ground up takes normally 5-10 years.. It's usually cheaper to buy a station but in most markets you are still talking $1million + and this is not the other $500-$1 mil in back up capital you will need...

There are sites that offer radio stations for sale... try there for ideas first...

Any local FM or AM radio station should have on hand the necessary FCC registration forms for a simple basic radio operator's license. These used to be FREE back in the early 80's, but the First, Second and Third class licenses were available for a fee and some training course tests were involved.

Back in 1980, I opted for the basic free license. Served me quite well over the years. Recently, someone told me that very same license now costs....I believe....$30.

The radio station studio receptionist can help you with this.

As for starting your own broadcast....well.....make a demo tape, pitch it to some FM radio Program Directors.....maybe someone will allow you to air the program on their station.

Good luck w/ your broadcast hopes and dreams.
