I think I read that somewhere, but I could be wrong. Yes, I know that happens in the Freddy Kruger movies, but thats not where I got it from. I was just wondering if it happens for real, because I've had three nightmares (all at different times, even years) that I was about to die but I woke up before my last breath. So I'm wondering, if I didn't wake up at that time, would I have been dead?

Some scientists have predicted that when a person dies in their sleep, It's because they died in there dream. Sometimes your dreams can tell the future and when it's time for you to die, your mind will tell you threw a dream and you just, die. But if your not ready to die, wake up before you hit the ground.

^ I can tell you absolutely, positively not true, I've heard that urban legend also.

If you're wondering how I know, I had that dream when I was a child, I saw myself fall and lay dead on the ground, a bloody mess, and unless I'm writing this from my grave, I'd say I'm very much alive.

So put your fears to rest, it's not a fun nightmare but it's not deadly either. Sweet dreams.

That is one area that has yet to be proven.. There have been many people who have said that have died in their dreams, And yet these same people are alive to-day... The real problem is that so many people are not always accurate in the telling of their dreams they had, And there are to many time that you have to question some of these people for hours before before the real truth is known.... So from what I have learned so far I have to say no that is not an accurate statement..... You see people are so afraid of what their peers will think of them and the truth is one thing that really takes a beating in all of those cases...... Why do people cave in to peer pressure only heaven know... But those that do cave-in are the real losers and that is a known fact........................

We could never really know because if a person dies in a dream and then dies in real life, we can't ask him or her if they were having a dream in which they died because they would be dead. So we wouldn't know if they were or were not having a dream in which they died which caused them to die in real life. You would have to ask somebody if they ever had a dream in which they died, and if they said yes then that would mean that having a dream in which you die does not mean that you die in real life. However, many people forget the dreams that they have, and no one I've met has ever told me that they have had a dream in which they die just one where they almost died but then woke up. Maybe i'll meet one today who has said that they had a dream where they have died.

So I guess its inconclusive. We would have to ask someone who has died in their sleep, which is ...impossible. lol thats a bit confusing, you need to read it a couple times but slowly.

Died several times in dreams and was always disappointed that I couldn't recall what happened after that. I don't think you would have been dead but you might have been frightened for some time after you woke.

Nope, I've been dying in my dream for the past 4 months... every night. I'll find out at the end of the pregnancy if its prophetic or not.

No it is not real. And if it was , noone would live to tell about it . I think it is a myth. Usually when you die in a dream, you just wake up.

I don't think that's true. Ever since I was a teen I've occasionally had dreams where I was being murdered. I'm in my early 20s now and I'm still here! =)
