Does shaving hair off my chest cause more itches?

My mother is a nurse (or so she claims) tells me having hair on my chest is good!

The worst side effect of shaving your chest is that you'll look like a plastic Ken doll, totally sexless. The itching will come a day or two later, and it's not fun. Why on earth would you want to do such a thing to yourself? It'll grow back, so try it if you must, but it looks really disgusting.

Your mother sounds very wise -- listen to her!

Bikini waxes have been around for awhile now. Shaving is an alternative/cheaper/less painful method of staying trim down there. As you've probably read already, however, it causes razor bumps that show up a day or 2 after you shave. They sell creams to help soften the hair prior to shaving, so that it's not so hard on your skin and therefor giving you stubble. Try it out and see what you like best. It's hair - it grows back!

I think it does and that is a reason why some guys will just trim the hair instead of shaving it completely off. I don't know if there is anything particularly "good" about having hair on your chest other than it signaling you have advanced thru a stage of puberty and you have the genes for it. A lot of men, myself included, never grow any chest hair and I don't see it as being a "good" or a"bad" thing although my wife likes it that way.

Shaving the hair off of your chest will itch when it starts to come back or when it's irritated.
As it will with your genitals.
After you do it several times it won't, or you'll get use to it.
