A puppy "Mill" is not just unethical, it's twisted and inhumane. They also destroy what could be a reasonable trade. There are a lot of breeders out there taking heat because some monsters are breeding their dogs to death in disgusting and cruel conditions.
I'm personally think that people convicted of participating in a puppy mill should face real jail time and hard fines. You can make 100K on a single litter with certain breeds. The fines should far exceed the possible benefits. That's the only way to discourage these creatures. I can't even call them people.

When you realize that the resource they are exploiting is living, and has needs, instincts to follow and, some say, rights (me among them), unethical turns to criminal. Pets have become dsposable commodities, nothing more than used tissues.
I think we need to reset priorities.
Conditions in puppy mills are nothing short than concentration camps for animals. No space to run, no hygiene, no consideration. Crated until death (the breeding stock and unsold pups) walking on sharp chicken wire all their lives. Where you see a puppy, the puppy mill breeder sees a little moneybag, a bigger one stands where the poor mother lays in her dirt, exploited until her early death, as pregnancy follows pregnancy, while she is never given a belly rub, or the chance / time to regroup after the exhausting job of nurturing her bebies.
People that only want puppies and snub grown abandoned dogs are to blame. If no pups are bought in pet shops and from these human leeches, the trade and suffering will stop.

Of course! In some way breeders are aswell, but puppy mills are far worse because they are keeping the poor dogs in terrible conditions and dogs are forced to breed non-stop. It is most distgusting animal cruelty.
DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILST HOMELESS DIE!
