If you are too lazy to do it, here is how:
Go to any pokecenter, go upstairs, talk to the first lady at the counter. She will ask you if you want to enter the Union Room. Your bro has to do the same. Now you will see each other there and you can trade/battle/mix records/greet.
If you want to battle, Union room allows only battles from lv 1-30 pokemon. Lady at the end of the room will allow you to fight any level you want.

yes go to the 2d floor in the pokemon healing place. Then go to the middle lady. Say yes and all that stuff. Now do the same for pearl. But u need 2 dses. Now trade lol
