im with you, i hate ironing, i do it on a "must do it basis only" i know i had nut job relatives who get this actually ironed there bed sheets, towels and wash clothes, even yes even underwear,,,,my opinion is there's something seriously wrong with these people lol i should'nt say that, it just seems they could spend there time playing with there kids, or something as productive, but im sure they could look at me and have a few things themself's to say about me right???

This discussion fascinates me as I've been on both sides of the divide: the committed ironers and the equally committed non-ironers. I must confess that I recently gave away my ironing board, but only because I moved into a place with those cool pull-down ironing boards tucked into the walls.
That being said, I am a frikkin' fanatic about looking good and put together and would _never_ go out looking less than spot on. But I do not iron. Hasn't anybody hear heard of the dry cleaners?!? You can send them your lovely linen shirts, cotton pants and what nots and they will iron and starch the heck out of them. And it's dirt cheap. How much is your life worth?!? Is it worth it to stand over the ironing board?!? I think not. And you're helping the economy at the same time. Think of all the good you're doing. :)

i dont iron regularly- it never looks ironed when i've finished anyway. I only iron shirts, and the odd decent clothes (nice jeans/ trousers) and so on. I probably iron every 3 months at the most. It all just goes in a basket u. nder the stairs where it cant be seen then i do it when the pile gets too high!! Lazy i know but once i've done it its like we have been shopping as can wear loads of decent clothes we had forgotten we had!!!

Thirty years I have lived without ironing ANYTHING. Gave in this year to iron a patch onto my son's coat cos he liked it, but that's not proper ironing. Still never done any of that. My friend's dad used to swear that the heat of the body works out all creases, and I know it's not 100% true, but it's an excuse and i use it.
Ironing is such a waste of life. I could be here not going to bed and answering questions instead!

Your just sensible and know where your priorities lie!...Lifes too short for ironing....I try to buy clothes that you don't need to iron..sports shirts are a good one..and iron free shirts are a gods send....the dryer on high heat irons the rest

my shirts and suits get ironed, a few of my partners t shirts and thats really it, living in a small flat its not easy to get out the iron and borad and stand for ages ironing everything, cant stand it! my mother in law irons underwear and bath towels... crazy.. if i want somethign ironed i will do it, i dont have a drier so my clothes et dried while hanging up and the creases naturally drop out.
you are sensible... i think if some people could they would iron the rug!

Technically clothes look better after they are ironed, but I agree it is unnesesarry. back in the old days people would starch thier clothes they would need ironing. With the detergents and drier sheets and all that, I don't see the point. I only iron something if it looks like crap. Jeans, T-shirts. Never. Your fam is just stuck in old habbits.

I totally agree, I will not stand for hours ironing, I iron when needed, spending just a few minutes each day.

I agree. I only items that require ironing like cotton pants. Ironing is a waste of time. It is time consuming and very tiring.

You are just sensible. Who irons t-shirts? Just do what you keep doing. Iron the button down shirts and slacks, that is all you need! Girls will dig it! lol!
