Hey Elsie: Sweetie...have you started your periods yet? It's completely normal for a female to have a discharge. It varies in consistency and amount depending on the time of the month it is. As long as it does not have a bad odor, no itching and as long as you have not been sexually active you should not have a problem. If you have NOT started your periods yet you are probably getting ready to. If you have, it is probably just the normal discharge every woman has during the month. You can get your mom to get you some panty liners if it bothers you too much. You're going to be fine.

If it smells odd, it could be a yeast infection. If it's not, and you don't have your period yet, you could be getting ready to. You should probably ask a doctor if it doesn't stop or starts hurting/burning, etc. down there.
Also, if you are close to a store, you probably can buy some pantyliners. They're very thin and won't show, and will keep your undies from getting destroyed.

Hey i had the same problem. I first got discharge when i was 12 too. I was freaked out. I thought that i was very ill or something. It turns out this is completely normal. It is just your vagina's way of cleaning itself. You should get discharge 6-12 months before you start your period(up two 18 months though). Maybe you should check out beinggirl.com.
Hope that helped

White discharge is common right before you period comes. It's completely normal. However if there's an unpleasant odor to it you should tell your parents to bring you to the doctor for a check up.

There is no need to worry; this is only a sign of puberty- it is a sign of maturing, so there is absolutely nothing wrong with you. Instead of using tissues, a pantiliner might be a little bit useful

A twelve year old should NOT be discussing this type of thing on the Internet. Tell your parents immediately and go see a doctor. It sounds very much like a yeast infection which is easily curable. But only your parents should be handling this!

Elsie - stop worrying...it's normal. Your body is maturing, the discharge is what mature women get...it is just the vagina's normal lubrication.
Please read the book, " What is Happening to My Body" (there are two editions, one for girls and one for boys). You can probably find it at your local library. It's all about the changes your body undergoes during puberty.

oh don't worry EVERYONE has it and its 100% normal. the vagina is self cleansing, therefor it produces discharges that change in texture and consistency throughout the month. you'll even get the "snotty" textured discharge but don't freak out, its because you're ovulating. the whitish dishcharge comes before your period.
