The last time the Cubs won the world series was 1908. The
last time they won the pennant was 1945. If by some chance
the Cubs were to win the world series it would be the greatest
world series celebration in history. Even ESPN couldn't put
that fire out!

very last evening on activities center Steve Philips replaced into requested no matter if he believed the Cubs were the acceptable crew in baseball. He stated they are taking section in the acceptable baseball, have an fairly sturdy crew, yet might want to nevertheless list some different golf equipment earlier than them as being the acceptable. i'm a die not ordinary Cubs fan to the top, yet can might want to consider what he stated. i imagine the Cubs have between the most nicely rounded golf equipment in baseball. they have an outstanding lineup, outstanding bullpen and an above ordinary rotation. Will the Cubs win all of it this twelve months? in ordinary words time will tell. the reliable component is you do not might want to be the acceptable crew in baseball to win the WS. look at 2006. i really have self belief the Cardinals were no longer the acceptable crew in baseball, yet they performed the acceptable even as it mattered maximum. similar is going for 2003 even as the Marlins crowned the Yankees. The Cubs have had a rather ordinary time table to that end a methods. hopefully the momentum and self belief they have outfitted will proceed to carry them. they'll want it come September even as they play 16 out of 25 video games on the line such as 7 immediately to end the season.

People are so small-minded to say the Cubs will never win a World Series. I bet they said the same thing about the Red Sox and White Sox a few years ago. There's no curse, they just need to go on a tear like the Yankees are on right now. With all the talent they've had the last couple of years, it's amazing that they HAVEN'T at least made it to the Series.

As a White Sox fan - the answer is yes. I mean, we all know the Sox are the Clippers to the Cubs Lakers. No use trying to deny that. The Sox are not as popular. That is why the Sox have this charm about them (at least in Chicago - we know the rest of the country could care less - take note Boston and New York!). And you saw how the city went crazy (in a good way) when the Sox won. So if the Cubs do it - it would be the biggest ever.
Oh - and ESPN would not care less. They are an east coast station now.

Yes, it would. The Red Sox at least got close to winning the World Series in recent memory (losing Game 7 in each of 1967, 1975, and 1986) before finally breaking through in 2004. Not many people even remember seeing the Cubs appear in a World Series, let alone reaching Game 7.

I think it will eventually happen and when it does I fully expect rioting in the Chicago area. Probably the craziest celebration any of us will ever see. Right now its a matter of when it will happen the Cubs are a decent team already despite the record they just need a stronger infield (DeRosa has potential, Lee is quite good but thats really all i've seen for IF talent) they have a solid OF with some depth and a good catcher. Their pitching is playing well under their potential but when this team is playing well they are a pretty dominent team. Give it a few years (or like 10ish)

Yeah i think it very well might be the biggest news if they were to win the world series, the longer it takes for the cubs to win the bigger the celebration!!

It'd be pretty hard to outdo the 2004 celebration in Boston.

But, this is Chicago, where cars got set on fire when the Bulls won, so I suppose anything could happen.

no..the fans would ruin it like they have done to every chicago team. see fans ran sammy sosa out of town..the only player in the last 30 years to put the cubs on the map. then they boo nomar out of town..yes a career .322 hitter..then there's bartman..and lets not forget about the

goat.

fans have been cursin the cubs since 1909. not til they get wise will the cubs ever win. seeing soriano STRUGGLE IN A HITTERS PARK..only makes me happy that he's getting what he deserves. he should have taken less money and went to a team that would know how to use him.

but in typical fashion cubs ownership just threw money at the problem thinking that was gonna fix it.

sure hasn't fixed priors and woods arm's now has it?
