than it would if you were playing baseball?
Also, if you were playing baseball with a softball bat, would it get more damaged than it would if you were playing softball?

like using a Mini Cooper instead of a golf cart - you could do it

But it's the wrong equipment - a softball bat hits a softball better

and a baseball is hit better by a baseball bat

damage? - only if you hit it on the 'trademark' - then you'll prolly brake it!

I see your point.
The softball is bigger than the baseball but the softball is a lot softer than a baseball. I think they use alluminum bats because the softball won't travel very far with a wooden bat.

It is illegel to use either one in the opposite sport.
The umpire in both sports are not responsible for checking bats but if the catcher shows it to the umpire, the play would be dead, runners would have to return, any runs scored would be removed, the bat removed from the game and the player ejected from the game for using the illegal bat.
