Forum people help!a!?

Question

Hi ,
I started a new forum about fashion and dogs ( fashionwithdogs.aceboard.com) and I was wondering how I get people... most of my friends have signed up.. but like no one else..I can't pay for advertising but how should I get people?

first, don't use aceboard. it is very slow. use www.invisionfree.com Invision board system is faster, and better. To get more people, you advertise by either yourself or assign this as a position to member. Like make a topic "Want a position in the forum?" and then telll people to sign up to advertise around. That mean put your forum signiture link in their signiture spot, or go post around about your forum. You can also do rewarding system. Like for each person a member referred, you reward him a point. And have a list like a Leadership board for points.

Problem with BB is.. theres already too many out there, if you are serious about one, you really should make it more attractive, so when people arrive at the site, they get a chance to grow to love it.

Also I wouldnt recommend using one of these free BB hosting, if you have a budget of say $40 a year, its best to run your own domain with more control over how the site should be, adding search engine friendly keywords etc to help populate the site.
