I would wash it in cold water and be sure to put some vinegar in the rinse water to set the dye. I think I would toss in one of the color catchers or dye grabbers in the water if you are washing it with other items in case it does bleed. As for detergent, I would use Woolite or a brand name for dark colors just to be on the safe side. I would also dry it on the lowest setting possible in the dryer to avoid shrinkage since you don't know the fiber content. NO BLEACH!!

Wash in cold water, gentle or delicate cycle with dark colors. If it feels like cotton or silk, I suggest you hang dry it.
