LET ME RECAP FOR YOU:

Kevin Dunbar has traveled to Dodge, in the hope of winning Sunshine's heart. Many years earlier, they had been in a relationship. They broke up and each went their separate ways. Sunshine had married not long after that. Kevin was devastated. He grieved the lost of her. "(1) Am I that easy to forget," he asked over and over again?
He eventually married. Sunshine's husband had been a casualty at Gettysburg......."Pickett's Charge." Kevin and his wife stood by her as she dealt with her sorrow. More recently, Kevin had also been widowed. Sunshine had come home to Virginia to help him.( 2) After the loving comfort that Sunshine had showered on him, he realized he was still in love with her.
Sooooo, now he has come to Dodge to try and rekindle their lost flame.
Naturally this caused waves with her boyfriend, U.S.Marshal Matt Dillon.(Christ, I love him!) Anyway, Matt had moved out temporarily.
Then, at the end of my last story,he returned:

Sunshine explained everything. Matt described the things he heard and the things he saw. AGAIN, Sunshine explained everything.
Matt:"Are you telling me that .......that you aren't getting back together with him?!" Sunshine picked up the puppy and whispered in her ear......"Your daddy is finally listening to me."

Sunshine stood on her tip toes so she could kiss Matt:

The next morning Kevin rode out to Sunshine's farm. He knocked on the door....Matt opened it:

Stunned, Kevin was momentarily at a loss for words..............
"What..........What are you doing here, Dillon?"
Matt:"I live here."
Kevin:"But I thought you had moved out."
Matt:"I was stupid enough to do that for one night......But now I'm back..........I'm home."
Sunshine came to the door. She put her hand on Matt's shoulder.....He left them alone to talk things out.
Matt:"I'll be home, later, Sunshine."
Kevin:"Please tell me that you two are not back together again."

Sunshine:"Kevin.....You're still grieving the loss of Isabell. Believe me....In time your emotions will settle down." They talked for a while longer.
Sunshine:"Listen, there's going to be a dance tonight. Why don't you come to it? It'll do you good....It'll do all of us good."
She walked him to the door....."Hey, can you still carry a tune? I expect you to show the good people of Dodge what a crooner you really are."

That night at the townhall dance, Sunshine and Matt walked in and were greeted by Festus and Doc. Matt saw Kevin approaching...."Festus.Doc. Let's go get ourselves some punch before Kitty spikes it!"
Festus:"Well, Matthew, don't you want to stick around Miss Sunshine.....I mean with that feller around here,liking her as he does...."
Matt:" Let's go get that punch."
Kevin stood next to Sunshine.
Sunshine:"Well, I'm looking at a very handsome man who I HOPE is going to sing ,tonight."
Kevin:"You are looking at (4) A man without love."
Sunshine:"Please don't say that,Kevin. You'll always have a very special place in my heart."
Kevin:" I'll love you forever, Sunshine.......and you know what?
I think you're going to miss me when I'm gone."
In a few minutes , Kevin took the stage and sang his song:

As he sang he looked out at the crowd. He watched as Matt held Sunshine in his arms. He watched as Sunshine looked up into his face and kissed him.
He fought back tears as he saw then leaving, arm in arm.
To himself: "There goes my heart and soul.
