I have been pricing Random Access Memory (RAM) chips for the past couple of days and I went to Best Buy's website (who has 1 GB RAM cards on sale), but when looking for which RAM kind (PC 5300, etc.) I need. Best Buy listed several manufacturers for the kind I needed and none of them the manufacturer of the On Sale RAM.
I still wish to purchase the on sale RAM, but I want to know if that manufacturer will work with my computer or if I have to buy a listed manufacturer's RAM.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L-35 (if that helps.)

You need to watch the pin number. The memory should tell you. Check you pc info from toshiba to see what you need. The manufacturer doesn't matter, but what does matter is how the memory is made (the shape) and the pin count. This determines if it fits in your computer. Hope that gets you in the right direction.

The value offerings of popular brands have similar performance as generics. But popular brands have better customer service and warranty support. For generics, look for those w/ Samsung, Hynix or M-Tec chips.

The better or high performance offerings from popular brands usually have lower latency and capable of tight timings.

There are different kinds of RAM that fit different computers. most of the desktop computers are the same, but are different for laptops.

The manufactuer does not matter. They are all the same. the only difference is the amount of memory you get. 512, 1g, 2g, etc...
