You 8 month old may skip crawling because he sees your 5 yr old walking around. Spend a day at home and have your 5 yr old crawl around on the floor with the baby. he'll come around. Good Luck.

every baby develops differently, some are slower than others, my son started crawling at 4 months old and also believe it or not he was sitting up by himself at that age too and my bestfriend's little boy didn't do any of that till he was 10 months old, he didn't even hold his head up untill he was like 5 months old mine started doing that after 2 weeks old. So don't worry he'll eventually do it.

my son crawled at 7 months and walked 3 days before he was 9 months old. He could run and climb before he was 1!! He's five now and has never slowed down.

Our pediatrician was saying that babies today are more likely to start crawling late or to skip the crawling stage altogether because they spend less time on their tummies than the previous generations.

specific she's surely on the edge of circulate slowly!! yay! tiny terror would be cellular quickly lol. My cousin began to circulate slowly around 8-9 months. He too did the rocking back and forth and finally tried shifting forward, yet he began shifting backwards first. Now at ~10 months he's pulling himself as much as face. good success :)
