It really depends if you like apples or oranges better. Why not throw BSD, Linux, Linspire, or other O/S's into the mix too? Seriously, each one has strengths and weaknesses. If you are familiar with one and like it, you'll be more comfortable sticking with it. Or, make a list of what you want to DO with your computer, then compare which would do it better.

As far as Mac's having better hardware... I'd like to see a Mac compared to an Alienware PC. Then again, the comparison would reverse itself if you compared with an eMachine probably. If you go with a PC, there's a wide variety of hardware quality available. That's what PCs get for free market choice, unlike Macs which are simply made by Apple, period.

Still can't decide? Get a PC laptop and a Mac desktop. Or vice versa. :)

Well, technically Mac OSX is a lot better than Vista. The interface is a lot cleaner and more user friendly. Both OSX and Vista have a sort of Aero style. OSX seems to run faster too. But that is only because no one was really expecting Vista to take up so much power. OSX is also safer, because most hackers target Windows Operating systems. But if your a gamer, I would just go with Windows Vista. It is DirectX10 compliant, which is the new gaming standard for High-Definition gaming. But make sure you have a DX10 compliant card like the Nvidia GeForce 8800GTX or the HD Radeon 2900XT. Eventually Vista will become more mainstream and many bugs will be fixed. So either Operating System is good. I couldn't choose though, so I got both=).

IBM stands for "I'LL BUY MACINTOSH". I would always choose mac over pc the mac has a great OS it is very user friendly. Also viruses are not the issue thay are with pc's . And more companies are making gaming for macs as they are becoming more popular. Lastly the mac is all inclusive with plenty of power, I'd never own anything else.

Depends on what you are doing.

Mac better for everything but games (because they dont make many games for the Mac).

It is because the OS is more stable.

But if you put linux on a PC it is just as stable if not more stable.

Mac has better hardware in it also.

This is a classic debate question. Macs are generally considered more stable and excellent with graphics and video applications. There are many more programs for PC's. I think the answer lies in the uses one plans for the machine. Lots of good information linked below.

MAC is good for two things and two things only: no viruses and graphic design.PCs are good for everything but the system can get viruses, but if you take good care of your PC and give it proper maintnence then you should be fine. more programs are available in PC more hardware is available for PC everything is available for PC. oh and if you're really scarred of viruses get Linux and you will have a PC with the advantages of a MAC (along with the disadvantages of games)
