Masons wear the ring as a way to recognize one another. If you have no one to pass it on to, find out what lodge he belonged to, and offer it to them. They will pass it on to another member who has a need for one. If you aren't a member, don't wear it. When the recognize one another, they usually exchange their secret handshake. You will be embarrassed if you don't know what it is. The same applies to Shriner's rings.

My father wore his Masonic ring every day on his right hand. My mother has saved it it but none of the grandchildren have gone into the lodge. I could never sell it because it meant so much to him, but if yours didn't belong to a family member maybe you might sell it so that a Mason or Shriner who didn't have a ring might be able to have one to wear. I would contact your local lodge and let them know that you have one to offer.

Or message me, I might take the Masonic ring or rings off of you. Not interested in Shrine though however.

If you are a member of the fraternity, you wear them. Many children of Freemasons are taught that if you are ever in trouble and see someone wearing the ring, go to them and they will help you.
