One of the oldest recorded Goldfish was Tish from Yorkshire, UK who lived to the grand old age of 43 & much of that was spent in bowls & small tanks. Admittedly this was an exceptional fish but given a healthy individual, a large tank & first class care 20-30 years is quite feasible & then some!

Goldfish live for 3-4 years and can be put with tropical fish in a heated tank if you increase the temperature gradually , mostly thrive in a cold water tank though.
