I've just started leaking a little bit of colostrum, and my partner is acting really squeamish about it, asking me to "please not leak on him" during sex. I find this hilarious considering it was leaking of a bodily fluid during sex that got me pregnant and lactating in the first place. lol. I just wondered how other women's partners have reacted to leaky nipples?

He doesn't mean anything by it...and he wants me to breastfeed...I think he just wasn't prepared for how early his favorite playthings were going to become baby's property, not his.

How immature... How old is your partner? My husband isn't squeemish about it at all (and we're still a young, early 20's). We've talked about it quite a few times and he feels less judgemental about it than I am! I think he may think I'm gross or it's gross... he said "It's pregnancy, hunny! These things are going to happen! Your body is changing so much and it's totally expected and natural." We were surprised it started happening so early w/ me (20wks). He seems to be more accepting when it comes to bodily functions than I am! I'm so modest and wouldn't even dare accidentally let a small toot slip in the 3 yrs we've been together.

Just something funny... My husband was reading an issue of GQ not long ago and there was an article about pregnant partners. They said that your wife/girlfriend is developing in areas you're going to love! She's going to have some porn star perfect breasts... and they're not for you! LOL This doesn't have anything to do w/ your leakage but I thought it was funny. :-)

My husband and I tend to both treat these crazy changes happening in my body (including the leaking) like our new favorite science experiment. He sees it as weird and fascinating, although, I wouldn't be surprised or offended if he gets squeemish when the milk really starts flowing later - I probably will be a little suprised and freaked out by it myself ;)

hahahah!
i havent started leaking yet, but i thought the part about him not wnting you to leak on him was funny and your other comment about leaking bodily fluid was what got you pregnant.
you should just tell him "well, you're leakage got us in this situation"
that is totally true.
ive asked my husband several times if hell freak out and he says no. i guess well see when it starts happening.

My husband thinks it's amazing how God made women able to do this. So try telling him that he did that as a baby too. It might not seem so scary then. My hubby was NOT like that at first. He'd say things like "Baby? Can I drink some of that?" Or he'd rub my chest. He liked it.

My partner wouldn't touch my breasts when I was lactating. All of a sudden, that wasn't his "area" anymore. Men are so territorial. Anyway, I had a good laugh, but no matter how I tried to get him to calm down about it, he just left my breasts alone...go figure!

lol I AM the partner...
Our solution... you can wear a bra... do it from behind... or use lots of lotion on your chests so you dont even notice pressed against each other.
