He will try but he should get hell for it though because the rules for issuing a pardon are as follows:
1)Petitioner has to have gone to jail
2)The pardon request has to be made five (5) years after the conviction. This ironically is a fact that Scooter Libby should know considering he was the one who submitted the clemency request for March Rich to President Bill Clinton
Primarily, these are the excuses Bush has used for not pardoning the two Border Patrol agents who were convicted for actually doing their job, which absolutely disgusts me but watch him with no compunction flout those same rules and standards he holds the Border agents to and pardon someone who lied and obstructed justice about something to do with National Security
To wingshooter, isn't that the same thing they did with the $40 million dollar "search for the truth" where we ended up impeaching a President for lying about sex and that was okay but Libby lying to obfuscate the truth about something to do with National Security, now that is a witch hunt.
Puhleeze!!!
People who excuse Libby conveniently forget or, to be charitable, don't realize Valarie Plame was supposed to leave the country a few weeks before her cover was blown to help put in place the network that would have aided us in know exactly what was going on in Iran, especially because her field was that on preventing nuclear proliferation but in the short sighted retaliatory churlish behavior of this administration, they cut off their nose to spite their face and instead of ignoring Joe Wilson, who it shows was right in his op-ed piece about the lies that took us to war, we have no human intelligence in place to aid us with Iran. Nice job.

I'm sure Libby will end up in a "jail" which is more comfortable than my apartment. Don't worry, he'll be fine, Bush may pardon him but probably won't unless he can find a way to classify the information.
Presidential pardons are publicly listed... I checked it out once. Bush pardoned a guy named "Armand Hammer" for the crime of making campaign donations under a false name.

I would pardon him, talk about a witch hunt and a railroad job. He lied to a grand Jury for something never happened and because of the lie he gets 30 months?? Hell, Killer have got less time than that. Besides even if he does go he goes to Club Fed, nice place I hear! Eat your hearts out LiBs!

I hope he does as he fell on the sword for the real leaker, and should have been tried for treason!
I hope Bush does pardon him! That will lock up the presidency for sure in 2008 for the Democrats. You do remember Gerald Ford?

Hey now, i think the nickname "Scooter" will serve him well in prison. But he will be in a special needs unit where he won't have contact with other prisoners.
