This is an easy one, GW > RF. I playtested RF, but am a serious GW player.

The graphics are great, and mostly run well on older or less powerful systems. Looks way better than most MMOGs.

Gameplay for GW is different than most MMOGs. It's far faster, and there's a lot more to do. There are TONS of skills (> 1000) but you have to put them together in combos (called builds) which means that you can use the stuff people have proven to work, or make up your own and try to make them better.

The game is more PVP-centered than RF, although the PVE stuff is really good. There are loads more people playing GW, too, from all the reports out there.

There are 3 "campaigns": prophecies, factions and nightfall. Each one is a stand-alone game -- you can play it without the others.

I'm not sure what the 'pvp edition' is, but expect to spend $30-$40 for each campaign. But, once you buy it, it's free to play (no monthly fee.)

Guild Wars is a great game. I don't think you'll be disappointed in it. Ignore the PvP Editions, they are just stand ons for folks that don't want to buy the full game. If you're only into PvP then I guess they would be the ones for you, but you're missing a lot of other content then.

It doesn't matter which one you buy. All the games are stand alone. If you really enjoy the game, you'll want to buy all 3 anyways. If you already have a friend that plays, then buy the same game that he/she has so you'll be able to play together.

Guild Wars Prophecies - This was the first game, so that's a good reason to choose it. It has a slower leveling curve than the other games and a longer tutorial section. It's also the longest game of the three. It has a European medieval style theme and a variety of different landscapes. (Desert, jungle, snowy mountains, tropics)

Factions - This game is the shortest and it has a lot of PvP aspects to it that the others don't. The overall theme is Asian.(This actually was the first game I bought, and I enjoyed it) Most people won't recommend that you start here.

Nightfall - This is the most recent game. It has an African savannah feel to it. Some folks will recommend this game because it includes "heroes". These are computer controlled henchmen that will belong to your character and will fight along side you. Unlike the normal "henchmen" in the other games, heroes are completely customizable and therefore make better fighters to complete quests and missions with.

Personally, I like to start at the beginning, so I'd recommend Prophecies unless you have a friend playing one of the other chapters.

You asked if you'll get everything if you buy Nightfall. No you won't. You'll get the 6 core professions and 2 Nightfall only professions. There are a lot of skills that are unique to their chapters and 2 Factions only professions.

I easily have guild wars dusk, and its a extraordinarily ok sport. the downsides are that you'll in ordinary words pass to point 20, and also you DEF. do no longer might want to pay a month-to-month fee. all my pals are taking section in diablo immediately, lol. yet i have heard that the lord of the earrings rpg sport replaced into fairly, fairly reliable. also, on a facet be conscious, guild wars basically, or is about to launch a clean boom.
