Yes...anything that man can corrupt he soon controls and anything that man imagines is always tomorrow's reality.

Interestingly, there is research going on right now that shows that electrical impulses from the brain (connected by an electrode or series of them) will allow a person to control a pointer on a computer screen.

Some believe that this will eventually lead to technology that allows people to have memory implants (think The Matrix) that allows a person to access information as though it were a memory, even though it is stored in a device that is not actually part of the brain.

As for brain wave control, I think you misunderstand what brainwaves are. Brainwaves are the output of the combined electrical signals of your brain. You probably cannot control someone remotely by using similar waves-- though who knows whether information could be passed in this fasion. Far easier would be to make implant devices that could uplink with other people.

I also remember a study that was done on the behalf of ghost hunters and skeptics. It showed that people put alone in a room and then subjected to a high power magnetic field reported that they felt a presence in the room with them. They reported this so much more than the control group that the researchers working on this experiment concluded that many ghost sightings could be attributed to old electrical wiring and the magnetic effects of shifting granite (in older buildings).

Interesting stuff all around.
