Not if your connection is dial up, another possibility is to have only local connection on your phone and no frills such as caller ID etc, this will lower your phone bill to around $30-40 a month

I've seen people dialing up using their mobile phone, so it's possible to use a dial-up service without a landline.
I personally haven't done it but a friend of mine used the infrared port on his phone with the infrared port on his laptop to get on the internet.
If your phone has a data cable accessory, that might be the easier way to go.
You could also get a bluetooth dongle to connect your cellphone to your laptop. Then I think your computer will see this as a modem.
Good luck.

You can most likely get internet through your cable or sattelite provider, though you will need to check with them for availability in your area.
If you have a cell phone, most major carriers have data plans that allow mobile internet access anywhere their network supports it. This is usually only available in major cities, though, so if you are in a rural area it may not be an option for you. Again, you may want to check with your provider to check on the availability where you live.

You need basic phone service to take advantage of dialup or DSL. Otherwise, get cable internet...

yes, some cable companies offer it through their companies...its usually a small little black box about the size of a day planner and they connect and everything for you

Through most cable companies you can. I would check with your specific state and cable company.
