If you are using Windows XP, then click Start>>Accesories>>System Tools>> System Restore. Choose a date and click it to restore to that date. However, if you have some malware or foistware, you need to be more specific because System Restore hardly ever does the trick for taking care of those nasties.

Assuming that you're using Windows XP, go Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore. Fom this screen you can restore your computers settings and files to a certain point in your computers past.

Be careful when you do this though; several things might be reset that you don't want reset. Use this only as a last resort.

Not sure what your problem is. Can you be more specific?

You may need to reinstall your operating system. This can be difficult, depending on what system you use.

If the OS works, and if you can get into the safe mode, you can try trouble-shooting your drivers. You could also try upgrading to a newer operating system if your computer will support it.

(I use Windows 2000 because my old computer was built for 98 and 2000. It will support XP, but I see no reason to upgrade if 2000 gives me better performance.)

Do you have the recovery disk that came with your computer? All you need to do is to put in that disk and your computer will be just like it came from the factory--if it is a desk top you have a reset button next to your on/off button.

Boot your computer from the recovery disk that came with your computer. This will delete everything from your computer's hard drive and add all that crap computer manufacturers add preinstalled.
