Yes, it is possible, but not likely a worthwhile project because of the conversion cost. GM tried making a diesel out of a gasoline V-8 maybe 25 years ago. The car was doomed because so many things didn't line up with diesel operation. For example, the compression ratio of a diesel engine may be twice what a gasoline engine would have. The gear ratios were different. The diesel needs lots more fuel filtration to prevent contamination and or clogged injectors. What about the spark plugs and distributor in a gasoline engine when the diesel causes combustion simply be high compression ratios. What about the bearing size and strength of a diesel crankshaft? All significant differences that have to be dealt with. Perhaps the best way to get a car into diesel mode of operation would be to exchange engines, as in MBz cars where the German car uses the same sized engine block for both gasoline and diesel fuels.

Diesel engines must have a higher compression than gas engines - usually accomplished with an extra ring on the piston.
It also uses a totally different injection system with a much higher
pressure than the gas engine. The high pressure pump itself
runs over $1000 for the average 3/4 ton pickup. The torque is
developed at a much lower level of rpm causing trouble
for your automatic transmission. A conversion to lpg or lng would be more practical but will cost a few percent of the power developed.
