it does this alot when i try to connect sometimes if i turn off and on the router it will fix itself but not always---when i click the ballon that says repair it tells me that the network id is not valid but i know it is because two days later it will connect just fine and work.

the name is still linksys---how do i change the name? it is a secure connection

I have seen this happen with multiple wireless networks being available in your area. Are you sure you are trying to connect to your connection? What did you name it - or is it still the default like Linksys or D-Link?
If this checks out then we can work on the router.

You need to make sure that your router has the range to reach your laptop. If it doesn't you either need to get closer to the laptop or get a laptop that has a wider range.

your wireless port might not have a strong signal so you have to be close, you could be to far away, once you get further away the signal 1/2 then goes

one of your neighbor is on the same channel or may have the SSID name.....first do a wireless network signal scan...then change your transmitting channel ...that should do it...

A lot of wireless cameras run on 2.4GHz just like your WAN.
