he isn't a slob, by far, however its the little things. Im eight months pregnant and lately i've been keeping things really clean, i just cleaned house top to bottem and i've been keeping it that way.

he has always complained about little things, like me leaving my make up on the counter, or a bra on the floor, putting a new roll of toilet paper on the counter instead of where it goes on the roll. since ive been keeping things really clean (which came out of nowhere these last two weeks) ive noticed that he does everything he complains about! i've been doing his dishes, picking up his work clothes off the ground, putting up his shaving stuff and 3 times ive caught him leaving the roll of toilet paper on the counter. :) when i bring it up, he denies it, so how do i get him to fess up and clean up??

First of all, you're nesting. You are at the stage of your pregnancy where you are preparing for the birth. It is your hormones taking over.

If he leaves something out that you don't want to put away, put it in his favourite spot. If I want my husband to put something away and he doesn't, I leave it in his favourite chair. It works every time. No need to nag, it gets the point across.

Good luck! =D

Your behavior isn't just coming from nowhere. It's the nesting instinct. Right before a woman has a baby, her instincts make her want to clean her house top to bottom to prepare for the new arrival. Your body is going through a lot, though, so you shouldn't overexert yourself. You should focus on keeping healthy to grow a healthy baby. Maybe you could go on strike for a couple of days and see if he notices and starts to help. Otherwise, you can sit him down one to one and say how tired you are and mention ways he can pitch in. On behalf of guys, sometimes we are oblivious of what needs to be done around the house.

Oh, Patty...join the millions of women (me included) who pick up all-day-long after their husbands!!! I think it starts when they are children and mom picks up after them...they get spoiled. Also, most men (not all!) are not big into being neat.

It's these little things...the toilet paper, the make up...marriage just makes people "nit pick"...it is a major problem. You tell him something you don't like that he has done...he in turn finds TWO thing that you have done, wrong! It is insane. People get divorces over this stuff!

Men HATE to be criticized...it is the main thing that sends them into another woman's arms! They flourish on praise, priaise, and more praise! They want to come home to their best friend...someone who understands them! they trive on being listened to and admired. (sigh)

I've been married for ten years and have given up on the neatness thing. I have several large baskets and fill them with his shoes, belts, wires, jeans, socks, etc., etc. I say to him...it's time to empty the baskets. Help!

I love my husband, dearly...but oh, this neatness thing is a real downer!

He is a hard worker, he is not a womanizer (!), he is a real good man...and they are hard to find!

You've got a baby coming. Don't sweat the small stuff. Stewing about petty things is counter productive and not healthy for you. If it bothers you to pick up after him, then don't. He won't have to fess up because his mess will be there in plain sight.

when you're operating an finished-time interest outdoors the abode then i imagine that you've a valid beef. if you aren't from now on an finished-time homemaker then your husband should be keen to kick in some attempt that could help you take care of the kinfolk. in case you've been an finished-time homemaker without outdoors interest then my opinion might want to be different yet in case you paintings an outdoors, finished-time interest AND run the kinfolk thoroughly by your self, then you and your husband want to workout recurring some floor regulations for dealing with your kinfolk mutually.

There is not fessing up, if there is only two of you, is eather him or you. Its probably a phase that your going through, but it will be easier if you talked to him about it, let him know that its your mother instincts kicking in and that you need him to be supportive, Maybe that will work. But don't go to extreme, that can also get him aggravated.

I wonder if hes just parroting what his mom used to say to him. People do that you know, if his mom used to say pick up your socks, he may not pick up his socks, but that won't stop him from saying 'pick up socks', when he sees it.
Tell him you can no longer reach the floor, or even see it and if he doesn't do these things you are apt to trip and fall over it. If you can get him to admit to any cleaning error, let me know and you will be given the Nobel Married Woman Peace Prize.

I think this might be displaced anxiety - You are about to have a baby - there is a war going on - people are dying - where the toliet paper is seems very, mmm, unimportant.

Just leave his stuff where he left it - or if it bothers you, pick it up and forget about it!

Boys will be boys....
Ask him for a littel respect since you are preg and the love of his life. You worked very hard to clean the house and are trying to keep it clean. He is being rude.

Communication....

Tell the little boy to grow up, you are not his slave, and hand him a list of crap around the house that he is now in charge of.

Kids make marriages more difficult.

You and your husband need to learn how to communicate, or you are going to end up in a really bad place...

Good luck!
