For all the libs that think this justifies the death of soldiers that is not what the point is. The other thing the libs fail to factor in is the HIGHLY Volatile area in Iraq as opposed to the average place in America... oh, and there is not a war being fought here in the states. The point is, is the war is being fought at a very low death toll for the amount of time we have been there.
Yes, we do have better technology and better strategies to defend ourselves. This is why it IS possible for us to win any battle we are involved in.

I never really know how to take that statement. Are you saying that being in Iraq is a peaceful little stroll, safer that walking down the street in your hometown?, Or are you saying that the average American city is more dangerous than a war zone?
And does the fact that more Americans are murdered by their own people somehow justify a war?
Would you feel better if enough soldiers were killed to surpass the US murder rate?

You forgot to mention anything about Iraqi citizens. There are reports of as many as one million killed in the past 4 to 5 yeas. If those reports are true, that means that one out of every 25 Iraqis has been killed. That doesn't even include the number of wounded. You also didn't take into account the number of wounded Americans in Iraq. That number is moving toward 30,000. There is NOT more murder in America than there is in Iraq. Compare all of the facts.

Well, I can't remember the last time an IED went off outside my house. I don't remember a car bomb at seven-eleven either. Then again, I'm not running in houses kicking in doors and shooting at people. Also, I don't think that there is a civil war in the U.S. Add up the number of Iraqi militants, insurgents, civillians, and American Troops in Iraq for the past 5 years, you will get a LARGE NUMBER

I've heard remarks that US streets are more dangerous than than a war zone. its true that if a parent sends their oldest child across seas with the military, its their younger children at home who are more likely to die or be injured.
I know that roe v wade cut crime rate, that could explain the differences between now and '93.
I know more crimes are solved due to DNA.
in '93 less than 10% of murders were solved (I've heard as low as only 5%). now its about mid 30s, 35%. and thats not that great to brag about.

That's an invalid comparison. There are about 130,000 Americans in Iraq & 300,000,000 Americans in the US. You have to divide the number of deaths by the nomber of people to get the probability.

America is a country of 300 Million.
Our current force level in Iraq is around 140,000.
So go to Iraq if you feel safer there. I don't.

We have more crazy Liberals in America, than Liberals in the military in Iraq?
As to the decline, my guess is that, our soldier's are out defending us against murderers. We have had no terrorist attacks on our countries soil since 1991, and I am thinking those murders are included in the tally.
God Bless the Troops, and keeping more of us from harm, and death.
I think Ms. Ezmz means percentages, Folks.

That is the most deceptive theory that some use to justify the deaths of the soldiers.
There are probably even more who die from drunk driving and so it's ok for a few thousand soldiers to die. (another example of neanderthal reasoning).

If you read Freakonomics, there's a theory that directly links the recent decrease in crime to Roe v. Wade and legalized abortion.
