Wow! I feel like I am taking a contest now for Mr and Miss Photogenic and I change my avatar just for that! Am I crazy?!
Being photogenic means you look BETTER in photographs than in real life.
Here's my contest entry.... lol

Moon... I'm definitely NOT photogenic! Honestly. My nose is crooked and I have this "WOW, golly I love life" sort of ditsy look on my face ALL THE TIME -- unless I'm in the sun. If I'm in the sun... I'm scowling! Or, if I'm thinking about something... I'm scowling. And I'm self-conscious about my teeth, so I don't hardly dare smile when there is a camera nearby. And, I get really expressive and make funny "rubber faces" that don't photograph well.
Unless you are one of my kids. Then I will relax and just let you take the picture. Those pictures, taken when no one else is around, are the best. I'm still not photogenic, but they are much nicer pictures.

So they tell me. I reckon it's odd that as men age people applaud "the character" in their faces; but as women age people rarely comment on their character, but instead remark on how pretty they used to be. So obviously it's all subjective, and culturally defined. I can't prove how photogenic I am - I'm a technoprat! So you'll just have to imagine it. I'll settle for that. Fantasy usually gilds the lilly.

Well, Kermit gave me a good ol' laugh. Wasn't expecting to see him there...
I think I am photogenic, I am not a model, but I did help out at a photo shoot on Sunday, the photographer needed a model and I volunteered (out of focus, etc was discarded and I had 104 acceptable pics). I would love to show you the proof, but I am waiting for the photographer to finish with the pics.
I love having my picture taken. My fave thing about having my pic taken, would be when my daughter gets out her camera and sets it to take consecutive pics and just clicks away and I act like a celebrity and say, "No more pictures please..." While holding my hand up to shield myself. She is a great kid...

To be honest, I don't really understand the idea of 'photogenic'. I look like I look like. Its for others to judge whether they like that or not. The photographer and the situation makes a difference too.

well, my dad was a professional photographer for over 50 years, and i've had my picture taken thousands of times (literally) and yes, i think i am photogenic. i'm not camera shy, at any rate, lol.

Actually, I am just the opposite. I frequently warn people about such phenomenon as cracked lenses, the mysterious appearance of UFOs when the camera is aimed in my general direction, and even crop circles created by film processors who wander around in circles, as if in shock. Two blessings in disguise, I will never get any uglier, and as I age, people actually think I look better (perhaps in comparison?)

I look better in real life, but i guess i sort of am. But i dont like it when people take pictures of me which isnt to good because my sister is a photographer!
