OMG, please don't go to either. JRP is a well known scam. Barbizon is a glorified charm school, but go if you wish. They both have bad reputations for taking thousands of dollars and not giving much in return.
Go to the websites for big modeling agencies and they tell you exactly what you need to become a model. They themselves tell you that you do NOT need expensive photos etc. when you're just starting out and they hold open calls every week. You bring snap shots of yourself as described on their sites (http://www.fordmodels.com/main.cfm - go to scouting, then 'become a model') or got to www.elitemodel.com and click on 'be discovered' and they tell you EXACTLY what they look for.
If nothing else, please check out the links below regarding modeling scams...
Good luck!

I went to an interview at both schools and ended up going to barbizon although the class that I took was more modeling then acting and they offer a seperate class for acting but it costs alot of money. I would suggest choosing a class with a topic that you could accelerate the most in. Barbizon is very good because after a certain amount of classes there are many opertunities for you to try out for and they have fliers on the desk in the front for you to take and audition, also you are imediatly represented by an agencie when you graduate
good luck with your choice

Believe me, I went to both in Boston.....If any professional thinks you can be a model, they will front any funds needed to get a portfolio. You do need a portfolio to find work but, don't go anywhere that charges you, it's a bunch of money making men taking advantage of people. At first they tell you how great some specific part of you is and how you could do this or that modeling and how they could help you perfect yourself so that you could have a professional modeling career making tons of money. Don't believe these two schools, they take your money and you do not get much back for it!!!!

hi!*! Barbizon and JRP are the two education faculties. i havent been to barbizon yet i took a runway type, a television and action picture type, and a commercial type at JRP. JRP training are costly yet they provide you numerous know-how of the entertainment industry. They coach you the style to ace an audition and get the area. (dresser, hair, makeup, advertisements, chilly reads..) in case you opt for to take training there, be at liberty even however many human beings will say they seem to be a scam it quite relies upon what you're awaiting. once you're awaiting to at cutting-edge develop right into a famous individual, then this is probable no longer likely to ensue. this is stable for a resume (alongside with community education, performs, vocal education, dance...) JRP doesnt make anybody happy yet they helped me locate an agent with the aid of auditions at JRP so i'm happy with them and that i believe as though the learning have been quite worth it as a results of fact i've got been given some stable education and ended up with stable representation. Do what you think of is suited and make your very own determination! stable luck!

i'm not too familiar with either, but i've heard that they are both scams...be careful, hon, check them out thoroughly before choosing. but i'd just take acting classes at a local theatre or something and then go to open calls or something. be careful.
