You may want to be the lead, and that's a great goal to have, but you'll need to work your way there and prove yourself first. With your stage fright I would absolutely recommend being in the ensemble first. Just be part of the gang and the hustle and bustle of the theatre and see how you handle that.

I would also look into classes, workshops and anything that's going on at you local community theatres, regional theatres, whatever is near you. They probably have summer workshops that you can sign up for! Check out their websites :-) They'll have info on anything going on there from workshops to auditions for upcoming shows. If you audition and don't make it or there isn't a part for you in the show, offer to help on the crew or be a volunteer usher... anything to hang around and be part of the theatre. The more you get involved, the less fear you will have. Go for it!

Good luck!

Don't focus on getting the "lead" since you admittedly have never performed in front of anyone. Just try to be loose and have fun at your auditions and do a couple of chorus/supporting roles so you get over the idea of being on stage. Take some classes that get you up in frontof your peers w/ monologues and scenes. And if your desire is just fame, you will burn out when the first obstacles hit you ( and beleive me, acting is FULL of obstacles)- focus on being a GOOD actress- honing your craft and working on your flaws.

Dot he math interior them first and then do away with the parens() to proceed. party (5 + 3) * 2 = ? excellent way is (8) * 2 = 16 because parens come till now multiply or addition. Have some faith. I'm in a drama class and the first thing we learned is faith. You have to believe in yourself to get anywhere. If they hate you, so what. You'd probably not see them again. Also, you're supposed to have fun. Who cares what they think, it's all about you. You should have fun. Just as you like the way you did, you'd do fine. If you need help, take classes or start doing small performances in front of people you are comfortable with. I bet you're a good actor. Email me if you need more help.

First join a local theater or if you are in college the drama dept.
You got to learn to be a follower before you can be a "lead"

Practice practice practice and even in front of you own video camera.
