I was working on a project for my tech school at a different high school than the one I was a senior at. This girl from elementary school recognized me and remembered my name. I couldn't remember hers though. But I recognized her.

-I went to the bank and the teller there recognized me. We went to the same elementary school. She remembered the teacher I had for math but we weren't in the same class. For the life of me I can't remember who she is up to now. -

I think it is but it depends on the person, a few years ago someone I went to school with recognized me and we dated for awhile. That was kind of nice since when I was in grade school I was scared to death of asking the girls in my school out.
