Try putting a bottle of Fuel Injection cleaner in it.
Like Chevron Techron.
The nozzles and the fuel pressure regulator get caked up with stuff and lets fuel pressure bleed off when it sits overnite.
The fuel rail( gas line to the injectors) is 'sposed to remain pressurized when shut down.
When they leak down,,it's hard to start.
Try starting it,,let run for about 15 seconds--just long enough for idle to stabilze but NOT warm up.
Shut it off.
wait about half a minute,,then try to re-start it.
If it restarts OK,,then it's very possibly just dirty injection system.
:"Tune Up" is not a bad idea,,,
New Distibutor cap,Rotor,Plugs and Plug wires.
It's MIRACULOUS how Long that stuff lasts compared to 60's~70's cars.
But in a way it lasts "too long".....
it continues to WORK even when substantially degraded and SEEMS to be OK
If your Tune-Up Parts are not reasonably new,,,
and ya dont use fuel injection cleaner additive regularly,,
then you really Need to do that anyway,,whether it fixes your prob or not.
The MISS sounds like a bad spark plug to me,,but it could be several things.
Tune Up and Fuel System cleaning will eliminate a buncha variables,,and establish a solid baseline to Further Trouble Shoot if necessary.
You'll get your money & effort's worth,,cuz it'll run better over all when ya do get it fully sorted out.
Good luck with it

New rotor and cap. sound like you are getting a little moisture in there, when cold rough heat gets rid of the moisture then no problem and runs fine. About $20 in parts, 10 minutes in time. One word of caution or advice when switching the plug wires to the new cap have both caps aligned in the same way, or take a piecr of masking tape and mark them.

If the truck has a carburetor then check the choke. If the truck is fuel injection then its likely the cold start valve. Good Luck and GOD Bless

it sounds like you may be experiencing ignition problems. replace the plugs, wires, cap and rotor and check the coil for burn marks on the plastic body also corrosion on the secondary terminal (for coil wire). find any problems, replace the coil too, you may want to do it just for PM sake. replace the fuel filter as well. if that doesn't get it fixed, you will need to check your fuel pump operation.

Find a competent mechanic that can look at the cold start system and adjust it correctly, and your problems should be solved.
