my 10 week old son has suddenly became very 'clingy'. he is breastfed, he use to be very content being (entertaining) by himself, and he would only wake up once in the night. now he wakes up about every hour throughout the night, he won't fall asleep for a nap by himself anymore-he wants me to hold him then he goes to sleep and as soon as i sit him down he cries.
we've went to his dr. a few days ago because for about 2 weeks now he has been spitting up crazy amounts of milk and even projectile puked few times. he's gaining weight somehow so the dr. wasnt very concerned.
plus, he got his 2 month shots 1 week ago---this all couldn't be connected could it?
....needing some suggestions!
thanks :)

This is a hard one. Baby's do not come with instructions. We know our children the doctor only knows books and some experience. Yes, sometimes shots can cause some problems. But, at 10 weeks believe it or not check to see if his bottom gums are swollen. The reason I am asking is that he might be starting to get his little teeth. Question, is he gnawing on your breast at all. Try putting a piece of ice in a wash rag and see if he starts chewing a little on it. Teething can cause him to have upset stomach and the pain could be causing the lack of sleep. Six son and 14 grandchildren later , they a all different.

It could be that your baby just has separation anxiety and it's practically normal. Separation anxiety is related to the developmental stage of object permanence. When an object or person is in the child’s site and then disappears, your baby remembers the object and person. This is object permanence. Your baby learns that a person, like his mommy, can disappear. Unfortunately, your baby does not realize that you are just gone momentarily. He thinks you have disappeared out of existence. Eventually he does learn that although you have disappeared from view, you haven’t been wiped off the face of the planet. It's practically normal most babies go through it so don't worry. If it becomes too much of a concern for you there are many normal natural remedies to break your baby from it.

if he projectile vomits after every feed, you need to go to the doctors and ask him to rule out pyloric stenosis. this is potentially serious. its hereditary and usually found in the first born son. it could also be down to acid reflux or poor attatchment. please get the pyloric stenosis ruled out, ask both your parents and their cousins if they know of any new born in the family who ever had it. im sure hes fine it just needs ruling out. good luck and best wishes.

it sound like acid reflex. my daughter had the same problem. I had to feed a special type of formula and my dr gave some medicine to give to her. Once I changed her diet she was a happy baby.

I would suggest swaddling him before you get him to sleep. Then he will feel the deep pressure from the blanket and will feel more secure.
Good luck

he's beginnig to realize that you are a different person from him, and if you leave he has no way of knowing you will come back!! Its a normal phase, and he will get over it.
