You know, there are many examples of this happening during the Holocaust when a group of Jews would be hiding in a basement or barn or whatever, and the Nazis would be searching for them.

Sometimes it happened that a woman in the group hiding had a baby with her, and the baby would begin to cry. The mother would end up having to smother it to death in order that the rest of the people wouldn't die. Sometimes these mothers committed suicide afterwards, sometimes they just lost all will to live after having to do that....

So maybe that will help answer your question about what would people do if they could save three lives by taking one. Real life examples.

If i could save 3 people that were actually WORTH saving, I would have no problem erasing a low-life scum sucking leech. However, I' m not sure I could kill a really good person to save 3 other good people, unless those 3 were my family.

Depends on their background. If the three are good, I would take the life of one who didn't deserve to live. If the three are evil, and the one is good, then I would spare the one.

Taking the life of another human being is against the law. It is also a sin in pretty much every religion on the planet. Good cause or not, it's wrong to take life.

It would all depend on whose lives were at stake...

If it meant saving or killing a person I loved against saving or killing strangers then I'm sure I would be selfish and chose to spare my loved one's life.

I would say it is the reason you kill that one. If that one threatens your life or someone else you need to do what you have to do. Would you fell just as bad had you not killed that one but one or all of the three other lives were lost?

What a terrible situation - it is wrong to take a life - scum or not!
However, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one.
