not much to go on here.

First I would unplug the cable or dsl modem. then unplug the router.

Plug back in the cable modem after 30 seconds..wait another 30 seconds for it to completely boot, then plug back in the router. Reboot the PC.

If that doesn't work check the cable from the cable modem to the router. make sure its in the internet port. Then check the cable from the desktop to the rotuer.

If that is all ok, then call your internet compnay to see if there is an outage in your area.

The problem can be the router, the pc, the modem, or the ISP.

First reboot everything. Keep things off for at least 0.5 minutes.

Can you see other pcs on the LAN or the router itself on your LAN? If not, you have a problem with the pc to router connection. Determine if all pcs have the problem; if so it is likely the router. Check out its configuration - especially with the LAN side.

If the LAN side works, and the router config has not changed, I would connect one pc directly to the modem; reboot modem and pc and see if it works. If it does, the router is bad or has a bad config. '

If you do not get connection when pc is connected to modem, check and see if you need a cross and are using a straight cable; if so, change to the proper cable and reboot. If all works the router remains the problem. If nothing works, call the ISP; they appear to be faulty.
