I don't know what you define as "lots," but sure women are being sent overseas, too. It's a volunteer military and women have been demanding equality for those who serve. You can't complain about getting what you have asked for.

Why wouldn't it be? Women have been serving in the armed forces for quite some time. If it is morally correct to expect a man to serve his country in good times and bad, then it is also morally correct to expect a woman to do the same.
